Giving Back to Our Community
At Little Wise Owls Outdoor Learning, giving back to our community is an important part of who we are. We believe teaching children the value of kindness, empathy, and civic responsibility is just as important as our forest school learning. Through thoughtful initiatives, we help children connect with their community, understand the needs of others, and make a positive impact.
Each season, we organize activities that allow children and families to contribute meaningfully. In October, we hosted a Thanksgiving Food Drive, collecting donations to support local families in need. This project not only helped our community but also gave children a hands-on lesson in generosity and caring for others.
In November, for Remembrance Day, our children participated in a special art installation and laid a wreath to honor those who have served our country. This reflective activity encouraged children to learn about history, respect, and gratitude.
In December, we are excited to run “Socks for Seniors” and “Adopt a Grandparent”. These initiatives connect children with older members of the community, bringing warmth, joy, and companionship during the holiday season. By participating, children experience firsthand the importance of giving, empathy, and building relationships across generations.
Giving back is woven into the everyday experiences at Little Wise Owls. Whether through seasonal drives, creative projects, or intergenerational connections, we encourage children to think beyond themselves, learn from others, and contribute positively to their surroundings.
Our programs not only support those in need but also help children develop essential life skills—kindness, empathy, teamwork, and social awareness. We are proud to foster a culture where children understand that small actions can make a big difference.
At Little Wise Owls Outdoor Learning, we are committed to nurturing children who grow up with a sense of community, responsibility, and a genuine desire to help others. Giving back is more than an activity—it’s a way of life.
